DESCRIPTION

Saint Thomas Aquinas Academy, a classical Catholic independent school, is seeking a Head of School for its inaugural year beginning in August of 2024, though the Head of School will begin employment in the Fall of 2023. The Head of School’s mission is to establish an environment in which students know, love, and serve Christ and His Church; achieve high standards of academic excellence; and courageously strive for virtue.

The Head of School works in collaboration with the Aquinas Academy board of directors, which is responsible for public relations, fundraising, student life, events, and recruiting. The Head of School supports the team’s efforts in the areas of advancement, marketing, admissions, and extracurricular activities. He or she also works with the board on maintaining strong parent school relationships and communication.

The Head of School serves as our academic leader and is responsible for establishing and managing the policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure that students are supervised in a safe learning environment that adheres to our Catholic identity and meets the approved curriculum and mission of the school. The Head of School plays a crucial role in recruiting and retaining students, teachers, and families. The Head of School must inspire teachers, support students, and ignite passion and enthusiasm for classical education among our staff, parents, and stakeholders.

Requirements:

The Head of School must be a faithful, practicing Roman Catholic and demonstrate a commitment to Catholic education. The ideal candidate will possess teaching experience in a classical school environment; previous experience in school administration; and demonstrated fidelity to the teachings of the Catholic Church. Entrepreneurial initiative and creative problem solving skills are highly valued.
