ABLAZE MINISTRIES – Missionary

Ablaze Ministries is looking for dynamic individuals to join their amazing team to get world-class formation and support so that they can share the Gospel with youth in need of God’s transforming love.

At Ablaze, we desire every young person to have a living witness that God sees them, knows them, and loves them. Our teams of missionaries are sent out, care for youth in their unique situations and provide them spaces to encounter Jesus. We believe everything we do – from hosting events and providing volunteer formation to leading small groups and offering retreats – will form young people to be disciples of Jesus and transform the Church through mission to youth.

Responsibilities:

• Provide vision and coordination for the parish’s efforts in ministry to young people in either middle school (7th-8th) or high school (9th – 12th).
• Coordinate and lead weekly youth nights, monthly activities, catechesis, and retreats.
• Equip, empower, and support teams of volunteers to multiply the mission to youth through youth nights and outreach opportunities.
• Support fellow missionaries at Ablaze and their programs through collaboration and participation in their events.
• Participation in teams’ weekly youth nights.
• Contribute to building a culture of clarity and organized mission through weekly missionary meetings and parish staff meetings.
• Serve as Ablaze Ministries liaison with the pastor, parish staff, and parish council.
• Provide support for larger events hosted by the parish and Ablaze Ministries.
• Fundraising.

Organizational Relationship:

Every missionary at Ablaze is loved, cared for, trained, and mentored to help them become better Catholics and missionaries. By being on mission with other team members, missionaries are provided with a holy community to work alongside and pray with. Ablaze missionaries also participate in continual personal and spiritual formation, which includes one-on-one mentorship, one-on-one supervision, weekly group formation, leadership instruction, professional conferences, and daily staff prayer.
Missionaries are placed in one of Ablaze Ministries’ mission sites in Central Texas. Placement depends on the missionary needs of Ablaze and the discernment of the candidate and Ablaze Leadership Team.

Qualifications:

1. Must be a Catholic in good standing with the Church and living out one’s vocation to the best of your ability.
2. Proficiency in social media and technology.
3. Ability to work with the Director of Development to meet salary goals.
4. Willingness to abide by Personal Conduct Agreement and Spiritual Covenant.
5. Committed disciple of Christ reflected in a life of pervasive prayer, devotion to the Eucharist, and a life of holiness.
6. Experience in youth ministry is preferred but not required.
7. Citizenship in the United States is required.
8. Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.
9. Physical Demands: Frequent periods of computer use, occasional physically demanding activity, and moderate lifting of up to 40 lbs

Job Status Details:
