Description
The Donor Relations Associate is responsible for managing and supporting donor and clergy relations in an exciting fundraising organization, the Catholic Community fund, that is transforming Catholic philanthropy in the Archdiocese of Boston. The Catholic Community Fund seeks an energetic, self-starter to play an important role in the growth of fundraising and communication, and outreach efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supporting major gift fundraising officers with engagement and outreach.
Implementing parish fundraising activities, such as increased offertory enhancement programs, and fundraising campaigns.
Supporting Annual Appeal outreach and follow up to donors and pastors.
Supporting Planned Giving outreach and cultivation efforts.
Working with the marketing team on ad hoc social media design, messaging, communication and outreach strategies.
As part of this effort, the candidate will be responsible for developing strong relationships with key volunteers and clergy.
Manage correspondence, invitations, acknowledgements, stewardship and communications with assigned prospects to assure overall coordination, individualized attention and to maximize the building of satisfying, long-term relationships.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of 2-5 years of fundraising/communications experience.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Superior organizational skills.
Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage many projects simultaneously.
Proven interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
Ability to handle confidential materials with discretion and to exercise good judgment, sensitivity, tact and diplomacy.
Strong computer skills and familiarity with prospect tracking systems; (Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge preferred)
Professional and pleasant demeanor, ability to interact well with high-level executives, trustees, community members and partner organizations.
Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
Willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church.
PHYSICAL PERFORMANCE ELEMENTS:
Ability to use a computer keyboard for up to 8 hours/day.
Ability to sit for up to 8 hours/day.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
