Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church is located in historic Camden, South Carolina, 40 minutes from downtown Columbia, the capital. This parish has been in its current location for over 107 years, but has been serving Catholics at a different location before this. While in a quiet resident neighborhood, the parish has been becoming vibrant over the past several years – even during Covid – particularly when we began youth ministry 6 years ago. Our Hispanic community is a big part of this as we have seen an increase of Hispanics in the area as well as becoming members of our parish! While we would like some experience and certainly knowledge of our Catholic Christian faith, it does not need to be extensive. However, this candidate must also be fluent in both languages as part of this ministry is also to serve the Hispanics, serving as a liaison for the pastor. Leadership and communication skills are a must. The parish recently completed a renovation of the church and an overhaul of the classrooms, which has made the parish very excited. With Covid at least partially behind us, we are excited about rejuvenating our ministries and organizations! This is an exciting time for the parish, and we look forward to someone who is excited about the faith and is interested in being a part of this.
