Director of Youth Ministry

DESCRIPTION

St. Martha’s Faith Formation is looking for a dynamic, faith-filled, and passionate person to join the youth ministry team. This is a full-time position with benefits. This person would work with students grades 6-12 and offer a comprehensive youth ministry experience to those students.

Responsibilities include:

  • Participate in a comprehensive youth ministry program to catechize the middle school and high school students (grades 6-12) of the parish.
  • Lead a team of two other youth ministers.
  • Help recruit and train a core team of adults to deliver the Catechetical nights.
  • Train and work with high school students who will assist with the catechetical sessions.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with volunteers and students to provide weekly resources to assist catechists and families in their growing in faith.
  • Attend the Upper Room on Wednesday evenings to continue fostering relationships with the high school teens.
  • Be present and help lead middle school catechetical nights on Tuesday evenings.
  • Participate in the Sunday night catechetical nights to form the high school students preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
  • Be available to help with retreats and summer programs for youth ministry.

Requirements:

  • Must be a practicing Catholic with a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • An understanding of youth culture and a desire to work with youth.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, with a specialization in theology, religious education, or youth ministry is preferred.
