DESCRIPTION
St. Michael Catholic Church (www.StMichaelChurch.net) in Houston, TX seeks a full-time Director of Youth Apostolate. The mission includes: (1) Reaching out and offering formation opportunities for Junior High and High School students; (2) Designing and implementing a new Confirmation program; (3) Cultivating opportunities for spiritual, intellectual, and personal development of young adults.
Experience in youth-directed catechesis, retreats, and teaching is required. This role entails starting from scratch and building a new series of outreach and formational opportunities. We are looking for an original thinker, possessing initiative and creativity.
Other requirements: (1) Proficiency in the standard computer programs; (2) VIRTUS safe environment certification; (3) A background check; (4) Weekend work. The parish offers a generous compensation package for the right candidate.
St. Michael parish consists of about 3,500 families and is located in the Post Oak area of Houston. We have a large parish school and many young families and young adults in the neighborhood.
