DESCRIPTION

General Description: The Director of Faith Formation and Youth Ministry is responsible for the supervision of all Parish programs that bring Faith Formation and Youth Ministry alive.

Essential Functions: Integrated within all essential functions of your job is the duty to evangelize the Good News of the Gospel. It is essential you respect and support the mission of the Church at all times during the course of your employment. You must exhibit personal integrity, honesty and compassion and make decisions in an ethical framework consistent with the Catholic Faith, teachings, and traditions, so that by your example, you will teach and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Your job will involve the following additional primary elements that you must be able to accomplish.

Direct Faith Formation program for EC2-5th Grade
Direct EDGE and Life Teen for the 6th-12th Grade
Oversee all Sacramental preparation for children, youth and adults for the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, First Eucharist, Confirmation and Marriage
Maintain Sacramental Records, Maintain Calendar for Faith Formation and Sacramental programs
Direct, recruit and train catechists and volunteers for all programs
Promote catechist involvement in the Diocesan Certification Program
Direct/Oversee all adult Faith Formation programs
Plan/Coordinate all Parish summer camps, (e.g.Vacation Bible School and any others) for EC3-8th grade.
Coordinate fundraising opportunities for EDGE, Life Teen Camps
Oversee and promote Young Adult Ministry
Actively promote all Faith Formation events throughout the Parish (e.g. Trunk or Treat, Egg Hunt)
Maintain an accurate database of all participants in Faith Formation/Sacramental programs
Partake in staff and team meetings, providing appropriate input, accurate assessments of programs and needs and following through on information obtained
Participate in Diocesan committees related to said position
Correspondence:

Respond to all emails and phone calls within a 24-hour working day
Communicate with Faith Formation families on a weekly basis regarding all upcoming events
Respond to all mail on a weekly basis
Collaborate with Parish Staff as needed
Collaborative Relationships:

Collaborate with the following personnel:

Pastor
Director of Maintenance
Parish Communications and Administrative Assistant
Business Director
Director of Music Ministries
Sacristans
Catechists and Volunteers
Parents of Child(ren) in Faith Formation or Sacramental preparation
Diocesan Personnel
Deanery
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time, in-person position based at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Trinity, Florida. Work is primarily performed on-site in an office and parish environment, with regular interaction across church facilities for programs, meetings, and events.

The role requires evening and weekend hours to support faith formation sessions, liturgies, and youth activities. Occasional outdoor and offsite work (e.g., retreats, camps, diocesan events) is expected. Moderate physical activity such as walking, setting up classrooms, and lifting materials up to 25 pounds may be required.

The Director must maintain a professional, pastoral presence while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic parish setting.
