Director of Faith Formation

DESCRIPTION

The Church of St. Michael is seeking a Director of Faith Formation. This full-time position will lead faith formation programs for children, youth and families in light of the New Evangelization. Directly responsible for preschool through 5th grade programming, sacramental preparation (baptism, first confession, first communion, and confirmation) and adult formation. Position will serve as the Safe Environment Coordinator for the parish. Provide direction and support to the Youth Minister in leading middle and high school programming.

The ideal candidate will:

  • College degree preferred with academic study in Catholic theology or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience in parish ministry or education.
  • A practicing Catholic with a strong knowledge and appreciation of the Catholic faith and traditions is preferred.
  • Ability to create or modify faith formation program curriculum.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Safe Environment training or willing to attend training.
  • Ability to clearly speak, read, and write English
  • Ability to develop and manage a budget.
  • Have strong organizational skills
  • Have strong interpersonal and leadership skills with an ability to connect, collaborative and form effective partnerships with a wide range of individuals.
  • Successfully complete an Archdiocesan background check, Virtus, and Code of Conduct.
