Description

The Coordinator of Youth Ministry is a member of the parish staff who works as a full-time pastoral minister involved in a variety of ministries that support and strengthen the parish outreach to area youth (ninth through twelfth grade). These include formation, service, liturgy, and a variety of activities. Specific work hours will vary based on responsibilities. Position Description is available upon request.

About Parish / School / Organization Name

SFX is a large parish in the western suburbs of Chicago. We have a grade school and a large religious education program, as well as many local teens across three parishes who are interested in youth ministry events together. In the absence of a youth minister, a youth parent board has put together multiple events and mission trips for teens that have been extremely well-attended – imagine what a full-time youth minister could do! Before COVID, youth ministry was thriving. We are ready to build our program back up in new and exciting ways to further engage our youth.

Broadly, the parish is entering with full vigor into the “Renew My Church” process with the Archdiocese. We are renewing our focus on building community, making disciples, and inspiring witness. We hope to become a community of radical hospitality with a passion for evangelization and a commitment to forming disciples in lifelong relationship with Jesus.
