The Steubenville Youth Conferences, an outreach of Franciscan University of Steubenville, are a series of 24 conferences across North America that help teens encounter the love of Christ every summer. Each summer, Life Teen hosts several Steubenville Youth Conferences with the hopes of strengthening and inspiring teens and youth groups in their collective journeys to Christ.
The Men’s Retreat sponsored by Life Teen is a weekend of brotherhood, restoration, and inspiration. You can expect to hear engaging talks, to enjoy some outdoor fun in the beauty of the north Georgia mountains, and most importantly, to encounter God through the sacraments and times of prayer. Adult men (18+) of all ages and walks of life are invited to attend this retreat.

General Position Summary: St. Joseph Parish, a dynamic and growing parish in Arlington, Texas, is seeking a full-time Coordinator of Youth Ministry who is responsible for developing the spiritual formation of our youth in grades 6-12 (middle school and high school). This includes forming young people to be disciples of Jesus Christ through relational ministry, planning and executing youth nights by leading both teens and volunteers, and collaborating and working closely with the formation department. This individual should be united to Christ in the teachings and Sacraments of the Catholic Church, personal daily prayer, and have a heart to minister to young people. This individual would also report directly to the Director of Family Formation.
Coordinate middle & high school events that inspire and motivate youth to participate in the life of the parish.
Continue to develop and put to action a comprehensive curriculum for youth to grow in their relationship with Christ, in the Church, and community.
Oversee First Communion preparation for middle school youth.
Work as a team player with a supportive and prayerful formation department.
Youth and community outreach
Leading and planning retreats, conferences, and mission trips.
Promoting and organizing youth participation in Church activities outside the parish.
Innovation in reaching students amid all the other distractions in their lives
Recruit, train, and manage volunteers in youth ministry.
Communicate to parish, parents, teens, and volunteers through verbal, electronic, and written communication.
Ensure Diocesan policy is followed and executed in all areas of Youth ministry, especially as applies to the Diocesan Code of Conduct and the policies of the Office of Safe Environment.
Maintain a work schedule and full-time attendance according to established Parish business hours
Overall, lead teens to an authentic and lasting relationship with Christ in His Church.
Ensure teens are ready and prepared for the sacrament of Confirmation according to Diocesan Guidelines.
Will be responsible for the Faith Formation Of both Middle and High School students.
Will participate in continual personal development though Diocese workshops, meetings, in-service as well as other national opportunities.
Responsible for all other projects, tasks, etc., as assigned.
Non-Frequent travel required for retreats, conferences, and youth ministry workshops.
Education and Experience Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in theology, Youth Ministry, Pastoral Ministry, or a related field of study from an accredited Catholic college or university preferred.
3-year experience in a Parish setting required.
Must be a Catholic in good standing.
Valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a motor vehicle check
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of Roman Catholic teachings, parish, and diocesan structure.
Excellent people skills and work effectively with staff, clergy, and laity.
Ability to build authentic and healthy relationships with teens rooted in Christ.
Ability to operate various word-processing software, spreadsheets, and database programs.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and utilize effective time management techniques.
Ability to carry out multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and implement creative solutions.
Ability to follow instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
Ability to proficiently communicate in English (writing, reading and conversing)
Proficient social media, A/V, and marketing skills.
Proficient in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
Able to sit and perform computer work for lengthy periods of time. Frequent use of computer keyboard that requires repetitive hand and wrist movements.
Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional over-night stays.
Frequent walking, standing, and sitting.
