Detail Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position

Event Planning & Execution

• Responsible for coordinating weekly young adult events. Ensures execution of programming, communications, financials, and setup.
• Monthly YA Leadership Team Meeting.
• Assist the Youth Department in bi-annual Core Team Training Days as a session speaker.
• Assist Youth Department as a session speaker each semester for the Summit and quarterly Confirmation Prep Days.

Discipleship

• Participates and serves as a Forge / Refine/ Pursue leader (small group ministry). Will include leading sessions & fostering community.
• Actively recruiting and training new small group leaders for Forge & Refine.
• Serve as a Shepherd for incoming Forge/Refine leaders.
• Ongoing discipleship and investment in relationships, especially with those on the young adult leadership team.

Retreats / Conferences

• Envisions and coordinates Awaken Young Adult Retreat plus 2-3 other retreats annually for Young Adults. Facilitates preparation meetings with team of volunteers, advertising, communications and programming.
• Envisions and collaborates with missions’ team on executing young adult pilgrimages.
• Assists and attends bi-annual Young Church SEEK retreat and DCYC Conference.

Outreach

• Organize alongside Pathfinders Ministry and participate in various works of mercy opportunities for Young Adults to engage in throughout the year.
• Regularly participates in organically planned social events with young adults including but not limited to Project Finding Calcutta, The 635, etc.

Administration

• Assist in communication of Young Adult Ministry to the parish community to include bulletin posts, room reservations, flocknote text reminders and managing the young adult community Discord.
• Maintain weekly social media presence on Instagram & Facebook, advertising effectively for all Young Adult and whole parish events.
• Assist the Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministry in staying faithful to and maintaining the budget.
• Prepare in advance for and attend weekly team meetings, monthly department meetings and monthly staff meetings.

Position Requirements

• Christian Commitment:
• Must be a committed and practicing Catholic
• Must accept all the teachings of the Catholic Church
• Must be committed to ongoing personal growth as a disciple, maintaining consistent spiritual direction, regular prayer, reading and reflection
• Must commit to being an active parishioner at Prince of Peace, including weekly Sunday Mass attendance at Prince of Peace, leading a Forge/Refine small group of peers, and being present at large parish wide events.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Effective Communicator
• Organized and strong multitasker
• Must have strong discernment skills
• Must be a good recruiter and trainer of people
• Ideal Team Player: Humble, Hungry and Smart
• Ability to speak/MC in front of a large crowd (Experience preferred)
• Understand the dynamics of evangelization, conversion, the Catechumenate Model & Ecclesial Method
• Social media savvy (Instagram & Discord experience preferred)

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in theology or related field is preferred, must be committed to on-going professional development
• Direct ministry experience expected.

• Reliable Transportation
• Must attend mandatory parish staff meetings and diocesan functions.
• Must uphold and adhere to the guidelines and policies of the Diocese of Dallas.
