Position Title: Coordinator of High School Ministry
Department: Youth Ministry
Reports To: Joey Scancella Director of Youth Ministry
General Summary of the Position
Are you zealous for the souls of youth? Do you desire to bring youth 5th-8th grade to know Jesus, form them as disciples, and send them out to transform the world?
St. Ann Catholic Church, a parish of 7,500 families in DFW, is looking for a creative, dynamic, engaging, tenacious High School Coordinator who wants to use his or her background to impact our community and share the joy of the gospel. The ideal candidate is passionate about youth ministry and wants youth to come to know the person of Jesus and the richness of the Catholic faith. This person should be a self-starter, reliable, and driven who is excited to join a growing Catholic community with a vibrant culture. This role will require a firm understanding of our church’s mission and vision.
Responsibilities:
Carry out the vision and mission for effective Catholic youth ministry by planning and executing programming to create original youth nights, retreats, Bible Studies, and all other programs.
Build and Maintain Quality Relationships with Parents By sharing the vision of ministry with parents so they understand the purpose and direction of youth ministry. Create avenues of consistent contact with parents through regular communication. In addition plan parent formation that help equip parents to grow closer in the faith with their children.
Assist the Coordinator of Sacraments with help with talks, empowering teens leaders, and supporting sacramental masses as needed.
Supervise adult volunteers and core members to be effective in mentoring youth. Actively recruit and train new volunteers and make sure all are cleared through the Safe Environment Program.
Outreach to high school youth. Supervise staff that is outreaching to youth. Hanging out with youth at school events, sporting events, school lunches and in the community. Help communicate St Ann vision to youth and parents that we encounter. Attend St. Ann yearly events, such as the Carnival and parish missions. Sit with youth at the 4:30pm youth Mass. Attend Mission Laredo each year. Organize quarterly service projects for youth and families.
Office Expectations: Follow all church policies, communicate with staff, complete yearly and quarterly evaluations. Maintain office hours as agreed upon with Director. Attend regular parish staff meetings and collaborate with fellow staff members.
Full participation in St. Ann culture and parish. Worshipping at St. Ann, participating in communal life here, serving, and giving here.
All other related tasks as designated by the Director of Youth Ministry or Pastor of St Ann Church.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in a field such as theology or catechesis.
3-5 years minimum experience In the field of youth ministry or related.
Dynamic, passionate Catholic living out their faith.
Excellent people relations skills for representing the parish and the youth ministry program.
Ability to build healthy teams and processes to carry out program objectives.
Able to plan and execute a comprehensive plan for youth ministry and adapt as needed for 9th through 12th grade in line with the vision of the parish.
Effective speaking and teaching ability.
Excellent work ethic with high regard to completing tasks.

This position is based in the St. Ann Parish Center in Coppell, TX (DFW area, Diocese of Dallas). Weekend and evening work is required to support Our youth ministry family.
