Location: Corpus Christi, TX
The Coordinator of Teen & Young Adult Formation will be responsible for developing a parish based pastoral ministry with high school students and young adults within the scope of the overall vision of the parish youth formation program. This program, which seeks to reach all youth in the community, will provide for formal catechesis, invite, and enable youth to serve others. The program shall develop close communication with, and mutual support from, families of youth and collaborates with other community and parish youth organizations.

-Proficiency in use of variety of office equipment, video editing, and programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher,
-Strong interpersonal skills with youth and adults Leadership and team building dimension and characteristics
-Dynamic individual with a desire to work directly with youth and adult volunteers Energetic, flexible, and charismatic with the gift of an exterior expression of faith
-Comfortable presenting catechetical and evangelizing information in large and small group settings
-Knowledge of Church documents, origins and development of the Church’s teachings: scripture, theology, spirituality, liturgy..
Education and Experience:
-Preferred but not required: possess or working toward a B.A. in Religious Education, Theology, Scripture, Education or a related field from a Catholic Institution
-Minimum of two years Youth Ministry experience in a Catholic parish.
-Hosting parent meetings at the beginning of the year and midway through the year to inform parents and students of Sacramental Preparation responsibilities and requirements set forth by the parish, in accordance with diocesan requirements
-Keeping records of attendance for all required events
-Teaching classes for Confirmation (or recruiting/training a catechist)
-Choosing and implementing a curriculum for Confirmation that abides with standards put forth by the Diocese of Corpus Christi
-Interviewing Confirmandi at the end of the year to ensure that they have acquired sufficient knowledge in order to be Confirmed
-Ensuring that all high school students who are in need of Sacraments (Baptism, Reconciliation, First Communion) are being formed and receive Sacraments
LIFE TEEN/Y DISCIPLE SUNDAY NIGHTS
-Plan and implement a schedule and curriculum for Life Teen each semester
-Hold Life Nights once a week
-Gather materials for environment and activities each week
-Invite young people of the parish and surrounding community to attend
-Scheduling in social nights and summer activities that cater to all teens
-Recruit and train a Core Team of adults who will help to carry out Life Nights throughout the semester
-Communicate with Core Team throughout the year, helping them to give talks, lead small groups, and carry out relational ministry
-Evaluate strengths and areas for growth at the end of each year
-Organize a calendar with opportunities for service scheduled in (7-9 events per semester)
-Book dates with various volunteer coordinators
-Attend solidarity events and keep attendance of teens who complete hours of solidarity
-Build friendships with teens in and around Life Teen and Confirmation classes
-Attend various events (sporting events, music and dance recitals, etc.) to support teens in program
-Reach out to other teens and invite to social events at the parish
-Choose a retreat theme and create a weekend-long retreat schedule
-Create and adhere to budget for retreat
-Invite and lead adult volunteers to facilitate the retreat
-Hold meetings before retreat, planning and discussing details with adult volunteers
-Book retreat venue, musicians, and priests for Confession
-Create and order t-shirts
-Advertise retreat to students
-Register students, and follow up with those who are required to attend the retreat
-Create and/or organize decorations, activities, media, and materials for retreat
-Go over retreat talks with those who are presenting, editing and modifying where necessary
-Host weekend retreat
-Book reservations for the specific summer trip/retreat
-Recruit students to attend summer trip
-Schedule and organize fundraising opportunities for the students and parents
-Book necessary transportation and volunteers to chaperone trip
-Attend trip with students, prompting discussion and creating leadership opportunities upon their return
-Follow up with donors about the success of the trip, in thanksgiving for generosity
