DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

Collaboratively create remarkable digital spaces where passionate Catholic teens, youth ministers, and parents of Catholic teens can find connection and support on their journey to becoming authentic and fearless evangelists.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate with the Team Leaders, and execute a digital content creation plan that aids in fostering connection and digital community among passionate Catholic youth ministers in the digital space.
  • Maintain a vibrant social media presence for Life Teen on major social media platforms that increases brand awareness and identity.
  • Grow a wide base of contributing writers, with a variety of perspectives, backgrounds, and experience for the Life Teen blog.
  • Set metric-based goals for growth across all social media platforms, and take the necessary steps to achieve that growth.
  • Collaborate with Production Services in live social media events and the development of video content for YouTube and Instagram.
  • Assist with marketing efforts on social media as needed, and work with discretion in monitoring any branded sub-accounts (internal and external).
  • Collaborate across teams for a robust and ongoing social media presence for Life Teen that directs users to digital spaces and experiences that uniquely serve them in their state of life.
  • Help create and develop content for Life Teen blogs, YouTube programming, podcasts and social media platforms.
  • Maintain all live contracts between blog writers, photo, and video contributors
  • Plan and oversee the execution of social media coverage, engagement, and follow-up at Life Teen events and special events, including any live streamed events.
  • Collaborate with camps and events to use Life Teen’s social channels to create an ongoing connection among attendees and the greater Life Teen digital community.
  • Generate user feedback and input on social media experiences
  • Participate in weekly staff Holy Hours, office Masses and biennial staff retreat.
  • Complete other tasks and projects as needed in alignment with the five year strategic plan and Digital Evangelization Strategy/Mission.

Success Factors:

  • Proficiency in a variety of social media platforms.
  • Skilled at audio and video editing.
  • Strong copy editing skills, and proficiency with writing copy.
  • Possess a strong, prophetic, and charitable online Catholic voice and ability to proclaim the Gospel to teens in a digital space.
  • Ability to present to both small and large groups articulating the mission of Life Teen, commenting on teen culture, and training on Catholic youth outreach in the modern world.
  • Maintain a high awareness of teen culture and how to appropriately engage it.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and empower others to do their best work.

This Position reports to the CIO of Life Teen, involves moderate travel (5-10 trips a year) and is based out of our Life Teen offices in Mesa, AZ.
