Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish School (OLGC) located in Plymouth, MI is committed to the New
Evangelization. Our vision is “To offer every person in our community a life-changing encounter with
Jesus.” We are called to foster holiness and serve as a center of evangelization and discipleship for
students, families, and faculty.
As a member of a team and under the direct supervision of the principal, the Campus Minister
participates in the mission, goals, and objectives as set forth by the OLGC Parish School Strategic Plan
transforming our school.
The campus minister evaluates school initiatives with other members of the leadership team through
the lens of the three fold dimension of the Christian life – Encounter, Grow, Witness, striving to
advance the Archdiocese of Detroit’s pastoral strategy as articulated in the Archbishop’s pastoral
letter, Unleash the Gospel, and recent new vision for Catholic Schools.
Primary goal of this position will be to engage in relational ministry in order to bring students,
parents, and staff into a relationship with Jesus.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Develop relationships with the students, faculty, and parents to support evangelization and
• Ensure the overall planning and smooth operation of the Liturgy, Adoration, retreats/camps
• Plan and facilitate Catholic Schools Week.
• Provide religious instruction (middle school and high school elective courses, Theology of the
Body series, lesson support for classroom chapel time).
• Implements outreach to school students, families, and faculty (e.g., Alpha, retreats, small
group discipleship, Fight the Good Fight).
• Works in collaboration with the Religious Core Team to build a culture of prayer as well as a
cohesive team among faculty who regularly evangelize and disciple each other.
• Develop missionary discipleship strategies, moving faculty, students, and families away from
an academic model to a lived discipleship model where the goal is active involvement in the
community of faith, transforming the culture.
