Outfitters An Edge Issue Night on Proper Dress About This Night This Edge Night begins with a Gather game where the Core Members will put on a proper dress fashion show for the youth, during which they have to guess where the Core Member is going based off of his or her outfit. The Proclaim teaches the youth about the importance of the clothes they wear and, in particular, the importance of dressing nicely for Mass. The Break gives the youth an opportunity to discuss how clothing is used and viewed in their own lives and in our society. The Send ends the Edge Night with the Litany of Humility. Goal of This Night The goal of this Edge Night is to bring to the youth’s attention the importance of what we wear and how what we wear reflects the activities that we are doing. The hope is for the youth to be more intentional and aware of what they wear to Mass and learn how to dress not only modestly but also properly for any occasion. Catechism # 2522 - 2524 Scripture Job 40:10 Proverbs 31:25 Psalms 126:3 Ephesians 4:24 Key Concepts • What we wear reveals not only a little bit about who we are, through a specific style or by representing our interests or hobbies, but also what we are doing. • In the same way that we pick the right outfit to wear to any event or any occasion, we should also pay attention to what we wear to Mass. • Our clothes should reflect the respect and reverence that we are called to have at Mass.
