Navigating The Terrain An Edge Night on the Place of Worship About This Night The Edge Night begins with a Gather game where the youth must follow a map to go to different basecamps to complete different challenges. The youth then go on an interactive tour for the Proclaim where they will learn about the different aspects of their church and what they mean. The Break begins with a video about what it means to worship and is followed by a small group discussion. The Send ends the Edge Night with a short teaching about the parish’s patron saint or devotion and a prayer for the specific intercession from the parish’s patron. Goal of This Night The goal of this Edge Night is to teach the youth about the different aspects of the church and how each element signifies something important within the liturgy. Catechism # 1179 - 1186 Scripture Revelation 21:4 Key Concepts • The church is where we come to worship God. We construct churches not only to be a place where we can come and gather as a community for Mass and other liturgies but also to serve as a sign and a reminder of God to everyone who sees it. (CCC 1179-1180) • Each aspect of our church and all the different elements within the church building serve a specific purpose and represent different aspects of our Catholic faith life. • The church building signifies the great family of God and is a place where we gather to worship God. It should be a place that everyone feels welcomed to and that they can come and join at any time. End of Free Preview Thanks for reviewing this Edge Night!
