Fire Fall An Edge Night on Confirmation in Scripture Summary The Edge Night begins with a Gather activity that allows the youth to have fun making s’mores. The Proclaim discusses how Confirmation strengthens us and explains that the power of the Holy Spirit has been handed down to us from the apostles. During the Break, the youth break into specific groups to discuss the significance of Confirmation being present in Scripture and why it is important to them. The Edge Night ends with a Send where the youth, in gender specific groups, have an opportunity to pray for a filling of the Holy Spirit. Goal of This Night The goal of this Edge Night is for the youth to understand that the Sacrament of Confirmation is present in Scripture. They will learn that through the power of the Holy Spirit they can be true witnesses to Christ in the world. However, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit occurred on Pentecost. – The apostles pass on this outpouring of the Holy Spirit to all the baptized through the laying on of hands.
