Fake-Out! An Edge Issue Night on Popularity About this Edge Night This night starts with a small group discussion on why popularity is so important in middle school. The Proclaim is a personal testimony along with a teaching on this topic. Small groups will then have the opportunity to create a puppet show on the pitfalls of popularity. The puppet show will lead into a discussion on popularity and how it affects our lives. Finally, this night will end with a reflection on Jesus’ perspective on popularity and time for the middle school youth to pray. Goal of This Night The middle school youth will come to a deeper understanding that popularity should not be our goal, but rather life in Christ, which leads to true happiness. This night will call the group to challenge their assumptions about popularity and seek acceptance and belonging in Christ instead.
