Face Time An Edge Issue Night on Social Media The Gather begins the Edge Night with a fun game where the youth will have to guess and create story lines based off emoji texts. The Proclaim will discuss the positive aspects of media as well as the dangers of it, and emphasize the importance of spending time with people face to face. The Break gives the youth an opportunity to play a fun game that demonstrates the importance of unplugging and the Send will help youth to reflect on the Holy Face of Jesus. Goal of This Night The goal of this Edge Night is for the youth to learn the positive and negative aspects of social media as well as the importance of face to face interaction. We can use it for our school work, we can get a hold of our parents if we are in an emergency situation, we can chat with our friends easily, we can share encouraging messages, and we can reach massive amounts of people. – While there are many wonderful and good things about media and the availability of information and communication – there are also a lot of things that can go wrong that are important for us to be aware of. – As human beings, we were created for community and for communion, there is a reason why God became a man.
