Everlasting An Edge Night on One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic About this Night The Edge Night begins by introducing the youth to the story of St. John Vianney during the Gather. The Edge Night is then broken into four mini Edge Nights, each covering one of the marks of the Catholic Church. Each mini Edge Night consists of a quick game, a five minute teaching, and three small group questions. The youth remain in their small groups throughout the Edge Night, and the Edge Night ends with the youth gathering together for the Send to pray the Peace Prayer of St. Francis. Goal of This Night The goal of this Edge Night is for the youth to come to a basic understanding of the four marks of the Church. (CCC 813-816) • The Church is holy because Jesus is holy. Jesus is always present in the Church and the Catholic Church has the fullness of salvation. (CCC 823-830) • The Church is Catholic, or “universal,” and recognizes the goodness of and some similarities with other religions, but holds that the fullness of the truth remains in the Catholic Church.
