Dignity An Edge Night on the Ninth Commandment About this Edge Night The Edge Night begins with a Gather game where the youth create armor and battle one another using pool noodles. The Proclaim teaches the youth about the importance of purity of heart in following the ninth commandment. The Break gives the youth a chance to consider different ways people are used for personal gain and offers them an opportunity to pray for purity of heart. The Send challenges the youth to simply sit in the presence of God during silent Eucharistic Adoration. Goal of This Night The goal of this Edge Night is for the youth to understand that the ninth commandment calls us to purity in our minds, in our hearts, and through our actions. Catechism # 2514 - 2627 # 2700 - 2704 Scripture Psalms 51:10 Matthew 5:8 Mark 12:30 -31 James 4:7 -8 Philippians 4:8 Key Concepts There will always be a struggle against the disordered desires we have, but we can battle and fight for purity by practicing chastity and modesty, as well as remaining diligent in prayer. The ninth commandment calls us to live lives of purity in what we think, what we see, what we say, and how we act. Purity in our hearts allows us to see the way God sees — most especially to accept and love our neighbors as ourselves. End of Free Preview Thanks for reviewing this Edge Night!
