Basecamp An Edge Social Night for Youth and Parents About This Night This Edge Night begins with a Gather where the youth and their parents come together for a common camp themed meal. After everyone has eaten, the parents proceed to a different room for a talk about the importance of Mass, while the youth proceed to play a fun campfire game. During the Break, the youth will have time to get to know their small group and discuss the theme of the series, while the parents will have an opportunity for a large group question and answer with the youth minister. At the end of the Edge Night, the youth and parents will come back together during the Send to learn more about Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati and to pray the Litany of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. Goal of This Night The goal of this Edge Night is to prepare the youth for the upcoming semester, to set up the theme of To the Heights, and to bring the parents in to learn more about the importance of getting their families to Mass every week. Catechism # 1342 - 1380 # 2653 - 2654 Key Concepts • The theme of the semester To The Heights is a slogan taken from Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati that reflects not only his attitude and love of mountain climbing, but also his desire to reach the heights of holiness. • The Mass is one of the greatest ways for us to reach the heights of holiness through the Eucharist which is the “source and summit” of our faith. (CCC 1324) • We, too, are called to the heights of holiness, and we are capable of climbing this great mountain of faith. End of Free Preview Thanks for reviewing this Edge Night!
