The Gospel… According to Michael Scott

As a Christian, you will be asked about what you believe many times during your life. A lot of our non-Christian brothers and sisters ask simple questions, like…

We Christians are called to share the message of the Gospel, the message of what God has done for us and who He calls us to be.

When telling people the message of the Gospel, we can sometimes dive into a deep theological discussion, which isn’t always helpful. We can easily confuse our friends and even confuse ourselves.

So, let’s take a step back, and say to ourselves, “Self…

With that in mind, here is the Gospel message according to Michael Scott…

At the beginning of time, God said, “Let there be light”, and there was light (Genesis 1:3).

Once He created the Earth and all of the stars and the animals, He created man and woman (Genesis 1:26-27).

They were joyful and were called to be in complete fellowship with God.

God gave them one rule — to not eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge. Adam and Eve said “Alright God, we got you! No problem!” (Genesis 2:15-17).

But then, Satan showed up… (Genesis 3:1).

And through lies and deception, Satan convinced Adam and Eve to disobey the one rule God gave them… They ate the forbidden fruit. (Genesis 3:6).

With their free-willed choice to disobey God, sin entered the world. (Genesis 3:22).

And because of sin, humans live in conflict. Conflict within their own families…

…And conflict with other people.

A lot of people only trusted themselves and became prideful and worldly.

But there were some who realized that they were sinners, and needed salvation from God.

And THEN, a young woman by the name of Mary was visited by an angel… (Luke 1:26-28).

Who told her that she was called to be the mother of God (Luke 1:31-33).

And with Mary’s yes, with her fiat (Luke 1:38), she gave birth to a son (Luke 2:7).

And named him Jesus (Luke 2:21).

Jesus lived to show us the message of the Father (Mark 12:30-31)…

…And died to show us the love of the Father (John 19:28-29).

He rose from the dead to open the gates of heaven for us (John 20).

God wants us to be with Him in heaven for eternity (John 14:1-4).

And with trust in Him, we will have the strength (Philippians 4:13).

To finish the race (Hebrews 12:1-3).
