Meredythe Brainard

Then: I was Summer Session #2 of 2008 at Covecrest!
Now: I am running my own photography business called Caritas Illuminata Photography, finishing school this December, and participate in Lifeteen at St. Jude Cathedral in St. Petersburg, Fl.
Was it worth it? Would you do it again? I could never have put a price on this experience. I was truly blessed to have been able to live with such a community for six weeks. I learned more in that six weeks than I could have ever imagined. If God ever called me back I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment.
Do you still keep in touch? I do still keep in touch with my summer staffers, and one of my summer staffers is now the youth minister at my church!
Why should a college student apply to be a summer missionary at camp? This experience is special, it’s a very small commitment if you’re looking into a first mission experience. You are with 20 or so other college students from all over the U.S. (and sometimes other countries). The experience of having God penetrate your heart in a new way everyday is something I think is good for a young adult trying to explore life.
