The Mass and The Eucharist: Our Fall Theme

So that’s it. Our summer theme of friendship is over. We’re never going to talk about friends again so I hope that you were completely satisfied with everything we did. That sentence was sarcastic.

This sentence isn’t: Our fall theme is the Mass! And you can’t talk about the Mass without talking about the Eucharist, so that’ll be a big part of our theme too.

We’re really excited for this theme because in November some of the words we say at Mass are changing. So we sat down and said to one another,

“Some of the words we say at Mass are changing. Let’s talk about that!”

“Yeah! Let’s talk about everything else that goes on at Mass too!” I said.

And our fall theme was born.

You see, Mass is essential to what it means to be “Catholic.” You don’t have to be over 65 to want to go to Mass, or for Mass to be meaningful to you.

Did you ever run into one of your best friends (see, I’m talking about friends again already) unexpectedly and you were so excited to see them? It just makes your day and you walk away happier. You feel loved and you’re sure the rest of your day will be great.

That’s what Mass can feel like, except … way better since it’s an encounter (a run-in) with GOD. He meets you wherever you’re at and transforms your heart and your day. It’s the most personal and epic prayer we can pray. Just wait and we’ll explain more.

Ya’ll come back now, ya hear? You won’t be disappointed.

I have a lot of siblings and love the Mass, so I must be Catholic. My perfect day includes a nap, my yellow shoes, a game of scrabble, brownies, absolutely no surprises, and a great phone conversation. If you want, you can email me at [email protected], or follow me on Twitter at LT_Christina.

I am a strong believer in @LifeTeen approach to a relationship with God. You cannot know God until you walk with Him. http://t.co/8xn1Ubd
