The Lazy Song Sin

Oh, Bruno Mars. You sure know how to get me dancin’. His songs are catchy aren’t they? And let’s face it “Just the Way You Are” is just the way every one of us girls wants to be seen. But can I be honest for a minute? Something’s been bothering me.

It’s hard to miss the line of “The Lazy Song” that says, “Throw my hand in my pants, nobody’s gunna tell me I can’t.” We all know what that means and frankly … that’s pretty awkward. Let’s talk about this, because Bruno’s got one thing right, it’s an easy sin to fall into.

But …

Masturbation is a mortal sin. That’s never going to change no matter how common it is to talk openly about it. You’ll hear in Sex-Ed that’s it’s healthy and normal. That’s incorrect. We live by God’s moral law – not by what feels good.

“Masturbation is an offense against love, because it makes the excitement of sexual pleasure an end in itself and uncouples it from the holistic unfolding of love between a man and a woman. That is why “sex with yourself” is a contradiction in terms.” – YouCat, 409; (CCC, 2352)
