Adoration continued and I began to let go little by little. As I dove into prayer with the other 500 teens, Matt Maher encouraged us to vocalize our prayer and praises to God. Everyone around me was praying aloud and I wanted so badly to have the courage to shout out my love for God too, but I was so consumed by the idea that I would do it wrong or that people would think I was weird.
I stayed silent at first and continued to pray in my heart. I begged God for the courage to pray aloud and to help me get over my pride, self-doubt and fear. He definitely heard my prayers.
The Holy Spirit showed up in big ways at the Life Teen event at the 2011 World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain. Camp New England’s Xtreme Edge Camp began today! As teens were arriving, they played a fun game called Ninja. They later participated in Sunday Mass, followed by an ice breaker called “Elbow Tag.” As session began, the worship leader, Patrick Williams, lead the teens in praise. The teens then introduced themselves, lead by our host, Katie Dunne. To finish off the evening, everyone took part in a zombie game called “Survive Batania!”
Edge students from all over gathered at Camp Covecrest today to start their “Xtreme Adventure!” Teens were able to get to know each other by playing some icebreaker games before heading to their first session. Michael Paul Leon led praise and worship before Jimmy Mitchell, this week’s host, began the session. The night ended in a giant dance party!
Life Teen started day four of “Epic Adventures” with some of the teens on the high ropes course while the other half went white water rafting. In the afternoon, teens had some free time to play GaGa and relay pictionary. After conquering their fears and spending time in fellowship, they were able to enjoy Mass, celebrated by Fr. Paul Salemi. Mikey Needleman led praise and worship before a session on “Epic Prayer.” The night ended with the most epic form of prayer, adoration.
