Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 04 (Life Teen), Day 05

The last full day at Camp Tepeyac for the summer was full of teamwork, fun, and prayer. The day started off with men’s and women’s sessions and organized free time. After that, the campers geared up to run the Gauntlet. They got covered in water and mud and worked as teams to conquer the challenge. They celebrated their victories with a dance party on the basketball court. Musician Mikey Needleman led some worship before host Lisa Garcia gave a beautiful witness. The cross was processed from the amphitheater to the South Lodge and led into mass and adoration. God was incredibly generous with His grace this week!

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 03 (Edge), Day 05

For the last full day of the Edge week at Camp Tepeyac, the campers had opportunities all day to tackle obstacles. The day started with organized free time, leading into Mass. With the strength they gained from the Eucharist, they were able to run the obstacle course and have an outdoor dance party. The evening featured praise and worship by worship leader Gabe Reyes and an empowering talk on obstacles from host Joe Chernowski, preparing the teens to go into battle when the come off the mountain. Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 02 (Life Teen), Day 05

The last full day for Camp Tepeyac’s first group of Life Teen campers was a blast! The day started out with powerful men’s and women’s sessions by hosts Richard Rivera and Tricia Tembreull, looking at the strength of sacrifice of Christ and at the loving touch of God. Organized free time gave campers a chance to spend time with friends and play in the sunshine. Afterwards, they were sent out on the Gauntlet to work with their teams, get doused with water, crawl through mud, and race for the finish line. The night started with a session by Richard on Epic Life and sainthood, followed by night mass in the amphitheater with worship led by Francis Cabildo. Finally, the teens prayerfully followed a Eucharistic procession back to the South Lodge.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 01 (Edge), Day 05

It may have been the last full day for the first Edge week at Camp Tepeyac but it didn’t hold back on the fun and the prayers. Campers started off the day with mass. After some free time, they split into groups to tackle the obstacle course which spanned camp. Victory celebrations led into host Brian Kelsch talking about victories over obstacles. Musician Grae McCullough led praise and worship while the teens had a chance to go to the summer staffers and chaperones to be prayed over. It was a night truly blessed by the Holy Spirit.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 01 (Edge), Day 05

Edge students spent the last full day of camp with some free time to grow in fellowship and community. Some bonded over friendly games of soccer and volleyball while others spent the morning jamming out with their friends in the art barn. After a morning of friendly games, it was time to get messy one last time! Campers spent the afternoon competing in the “Gauntlet.” It was an afternoon filled with pudding, whiffle ball, slides and of course, mud!

2010 Camp Covecrest, Week 09 (Life Teen), Day 1

Teens started off the final week of 2010 camp at Covecrest with introductions and Carnival/cookout on a nice, cooler evening. After Br. Paul Kostka, this week’s host, spoke during the first session and musician Josh Blakesley led music, the teens experienced a great but challenging time protecting their chaperones from “snipers” in the night obstacle course. 2010 Camp New England, Week 17 (Life Teen), Day 1

The first day of Life Teen week at New England started off on the right foot as groups came in and bonded right away over an Israeli game called “Ga ga” which means “to hit” in Hebrew. The teens had a lot of time to play games before session started with Mass celebrated by Fr. Matt Williams and con-celebrated by a parish priest. After dinner, host Joe Chernowski introduced the teens to the theme “Behold the Mystery” and sent them out on their first mission: the night obstacle course.

2010 Camp Tepeyac, Week 12 (Edge), Day 1

Edge students from different states made it to Camp Tepeyac yesterday for Day 1 of beholding the Mystery! Campers dove into opening session with icebreaker games, a cookout and carnival activities. In the evening, Michael Paul Leon led worship and Paul Latino spoke before the teens went out to the muddy, wet obstacle course! They had a blast and learned a lot about working together to lift their leaders up.

Week 7 opened up at Covecrest with Life Teen parishes arriving in the afternoon, and getting right to business with a cookout for dinner and Carnival games to play before and after dinner. After the opening session, including the “Rules Skit,” campers ventured out to begin the night obstacle course in groups, protecting their chaperones who held water balloons. 2010 Camp Rockyvine, Week 02 (Edge), Day 1

Middle schoolers and their chaperones arrived at Rockyvine Monday afternoon to begin their week at “Behold the Mystery” Summer Camp. Brian Kelsch from Houston, Texas hosts this week and Mike Waldon from Slidell, LA is leading praise and worship. Father Thomas Pastorius from the St. Louis area volunteered his whole week to lead the kids deeper into their faith. The events of Monday afternoon and evening were more focused on fun than faith, just to get the kids warmed up. Free time, icebreakers, carnival games and the night obstacle course welcomed the middle schoolers to camp.
