Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 4 (Life Teen), Day 4

It was another day of conquering fears in the sunshine at Camp Tepeyac today! This morning, the guys headed into a men’s session and to low ropes while their sisters tackled the Tango tower. In the afternoon, they traded places, with the ladies in session and low ropes and the boys taking on the tower and the zip line. Later, the campers got to celebrate mass outside at the amphitheater before session led by host Lisa Garcia and a talk from worship leader Mikey Needleman. The campers were called to embrace silence and practiced with journaling and adoration.

Camp New England 2011, Week 02 (Life Teen), Day 3

On Day 3 of their Epic Adventure, the teens were split into a guys group and a girls group. In the morning the guy’s had a session with Eric Porteous, while the girls went out onto the low ropes course. After their session, the guy’s had organized free time. In the afternoon, the girls had their session, lead by two missionaries, Carrie Bigley and Jilina Damin, and the guys went out on to the low ropes course. Mass was held just before dinner, and the teens then dove into a session called Epic Spirit. To finish off the evening, each teen experienced being prayed over by their youth minister and summer missionaries.

Camp New England 2011, Week 2 (Life Teen), Day 2

On day two of their Epic Adventure, teens ventured out to a High/Low ropes course. Teens were challenged to trust their fellow brothers and sisters in a series of team building exercises, and braved their fears on a series of High Ropes stations. Upon returning home, the teens had mass, and then were served dinner family-style with their parish. The session that night was called Epic Rescue. The evening was spent deep in prayer, and the teens were given the opportunity to go to Confession. The evening concluded with joyful praise and worship at a “No Sin Party!”

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 03 (Edge), Day 04

Edge campers continued to conquer their fears today at Camp Tepeyac! They greeted the morning from the top of the Tango Tower, tackling the rock wall, the spider web, Jacob’s Ladder, and the zip line. Next, they took it to the ground for low ropes, working on team building and trusting their brothers and sisters. Building on that trust and fellowship, they celebrated mass and had men’s and women’s sessions. The night was closed with an incredibly powerful adoration session. God is good and provides so generously!

Camp New England 2011, Week 1 (Edge), Day 4

On day four of Camp New England’s Xtreme Adventure, the teens started the day by learning how to make rosaries. From there, everyone participated in a rosary walk, followed by Mass outside. After lunch, the teens played capture the flag. Later in the day, groups of teens were lead through the low ropes course. Katie Dunne lead an evening session about how to become a saint, and the teens finished off the night with Adoration.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 02 (Life Teen), Day 04

It was another busy day at Camp Tepeyac today! In the morning, the girls split up for high ropes and a women’s session/crafting/low ropes combo while their brothers tackled the paintball field. After lunch, the girls’ groups switched places and the boys climbed the Tango Tower and rode the zip line. No rain meant the camp was blessed with mass outside, followed by a session on Epic Prayer by hosts Tricia Tembreull and Richard Rivera and a peaceful adoration session with worship led by Francis Cabildo.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 07 (Life Teen), Day 3

Teens at Covecrest spent day three going on epic adventures. Some went white water rafting while others tackled the high and low ropes course. After a fun-filled and challenging day, Matt Smith started a session on “Epic Spirit” with Ben Walther leading praise and worship. The evening concluded with the opportunity for teens to open up to the Holy Spirit by diving into prayer with their core members and youth ministers.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 01 (Edge), Day 04

Day four at Camp Tepeyac gave the campers lots of opportunities to work together and conquer their fears. Guys and girls split up again to use teamwork on the low ropes course and to climb the Tango Tour and take on the zip line. The boys stayed with their brothers and the girls stayed with their sisters to enjoy fellowship in mass and in session. The night ended with a powerful Adoration session, led by Grae McCullough. Brian Kelsch was the host.

Campers spent day three at Covecrest going on “xtreme adventures.” Some groups went tubing while others tackled the high and low ropes courses. After a fun-filled day, campers gathered together to celebrate Mass in the evening. The night ended as all nights should, in Eucharistic Adoration.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 04 (Edge), Day 03

Campers spent day three of “Xtreme Adventures” on the ropes course where they were able to encourage their friends and work together. In the evening, everyone joined together for Mass, celebrated by Fr. Tom Rafferty with Michael Paul Leon leading praise and worship. Mass concluded with adoration and a time for everyone to pray together as a family.

2011 Camp Covecrest, Week 03 (Life Teen), Day 03

Teens spent day three at Camp Covecrest conquering their fears! Some went white water rafting while others tackled the high and low ropes courses. After everyone went on their “epic adventures,’ Dan Huss, this week’s host, led a session about the Holy Spirit. Core members, youth ministers and summer missionaries were able to pray over the teens and each other. Everyone went on an epic adventure together by diving into the Holy Spirit through prayer.

Day three of week two at Covecrest was filled with “epic adventures.” Some tackled the high and low ropes course while others went white water rafting. The day concluded with an evening session where Mike Gormley, this week’s host, gave a talk and encouraged teens to allow the Holy Spirit to guide them in their lives. After that, they had some time to discuss and journal in their small groups.

2011 Camp Covecrest, Week 01 (Edge), Day 03

Edge students spent day three on the ropes course! They took on the high ropes course to conquer their fears. Campers flew down the zip line, climbed rock walls and shouted words of encouragement to their brothers and sisters of Christ. They also enjoyed the low ropes course for some team building activities were they learned to communicate and trust each other.

2010 Camp Covecrest, Week 09 (Life Teen), Day 4

Day 4 of Week 9 at Covecrest brought with it thunderstorms in the afternoon, so instead of doing high and low ropes, teens stayed inside and were given the task of coming up with their own skits to perform. Then a dance party ensued, and fun was had by all. The girl groups had the opportunity to go out and do a few low ropes stations. Mass was celebrated in the evening, when the half the teens came back from whitewater rafting all day, and the evening session focused on the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Read more [...]

2010 Camp Covecrest, Week 09 (Life Teen), Day 3

Day 3 with Life Teen campers of week 9 at Covecrest opened up early for half of the camp, who went whitewater rafting while the other half stayed at camp to do high and low ropes courses. Once everyone came back together in the afternoon, the seven priests at camp this week celebrated Mass on a special day — the feast day of Saint John Vianney, the patron saint of priests. 2010 Camp New England, Week 17 (Life Teen), Day 3

The third day of “Behold the Mystery” Life Teen Summer Camp began with fun as guys went to the pool first and girls bonded during low ropes. After lunch, the guys did low ropes and the girls relaxed in the pool. The group was reunited with a rosary and Mass celebrated by a parish priest and con-celebrated by Fr. Matt Williams. Host Joe Chernowski introduced the teens to the mystery of God’s invitation to prayer with the help of Mary and the saints. To end the night, summer staff prayed over campers, chaperones and youth ministers asking for the intercession of Mary and the saints.

2010 Camp Covecrest, Week 08 (Life Teen), Day 4

It was the second day of high and low ropes for Week 8 campers on Day 4 of camp Covecrest. While they stayed at camp for the day, the other half of camp departed early in the morning for the Nantahala Outdoor Center to go whitewater rafting. Everyone came back together for Mass, then a night session of three rotating stations centered on Reconciliation. Camp host is Michael “Gomer” Gormley and musician is Mikey Needleman for the theme of “Behold the Mystery.” [nggallery id=180]

2010 Camp Covecrest, Week 08 (Life Teen), Day 3

Halfway through Week 8 at Covecrest, Life Teen campers split up for the day — while half went to Nantahala Outdoor Center for some whitewater rafting, the other half stayed at camp to go through the high and low ropes courses. Fr. Tom Rafferty celebrated Mass in the evening, and then host Gomer Gormley led the teens in a night of prayer and reflection about Mary’s fiat, her “yes” to God’s will in bearing the Son of God. 2010 Camp New England, Week 16 (Edge), Day 3

“Behold the Mystery” summer camp continued on day 3 with team building during low ropes. Campers also got a chance to cool down in the pool after lunch. Mass marked the beginning of the night session where the middle schoolers entered into the mystery of God’s invitation through prayer, the Blessed Mother and the saints. Host Kevin Hickey not only knew how to have fun with the campers but also how to lead them into prayer. John Hopke set the mood with his music and Father Tom Washburn, OFM gave his blessings.

2010 Camp Covecrest, Week 07 (Life Teen), Day 4

Teens challenged themselves on high and low ropes courses on Day 4 of Week 7 at Covecrest, while others went whitewater rafting. Fr. Tim Hepburn celebrated Mass in the evening, on the feast of Saint Mary Magdalene. After dinner, campers took part in a session where they had the chance to listen to a testimony, go to Reconciliation and pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
