Baby, You’re a Firework… Sort of

But then I thought about it more and I decided that the LAST thing I want to be is a firework. As exciting as they are, fireworks don’t really have a long life. There’s a high-pitched hum, a crackle, and then a really cool explosion of light that lasts for maybe five seconds.

And that’s all there is. Except for the smell of sulfur that lasts for another minute, and the charred out debris that lands somewhere. For all of their glory, fireworks burn out pretty fast. No matter how high they go, no matter how cool the colors are, they’re forgotten when the next one goes off.

Most chick flicks are about infatuation because it’s packed with emotion and romance without any of the “ordinary” parts of life to slow down the plot. Many websites and magazines for teen girls routinely talk about “love” when they’re really talking about “infatuation.”

A Catholic's Perspective on iTunes 2010 Top 10 Hits

Was 2010 a good year for music? There are bright spots for sure, like Bruno Mars’ “Just they Way You Are” or Kris Allen’s “Live Like You’re Dying.” But neither of those upbeat songs made the top ten on iTunes’s year end chart. So I listened to the top 10 songs this year on iTunes to discovered good, bad, and ugly.
