It takes you from the powerful, inspiring, and awesome person that you are to a mere object of lust. You are already beautiful and deserve better than that. When you show cleavage and your legs with mini costumes, it is those parts of your body that are emphasized (by design). It sends the message that the most valuable thing about you is the body parts you’re putting on display.

Consider our current American culture. Pornography is the highest-grossing industry in America, by far, eclipsing the gross revenues of all professional sports and major television networks. The highest-grossing movies amongst American teenagers over the past several years have been “slasher” horror films, followed by sex “comedies” at a close second. Music becomes more profane and suggestive. Video games become increasingly violent and graphic. Divorce rates climb. The gay marriage debate continues to grow in intensity. Well over forty-five million babies have been legally killed since 1973.
In the face of all this insanity stands the Roman Catholic Church. Right?
It was 1999 and I had just entered my freshmen year of high school. The first school dance of the year was quickly approaching so I had to wear the perfect outfit. My goal was to look sexy because that’s what I thought I had to do to compete with other girls and to get attention from guys. The truth is I desperately wanted guys to find me attractive because I wanted to feel beautiful.
