Summer Camp Missionary

Summer Camp Missionary

Experience the best summer of your life

Your mission: Be Fearless

Do you want to have the most epic summer you can imagine? If the answer is “yes,” then join hundreds of other young adult Catholics as a Summer Missionary at one of three Edge and Life Teen camps throughout the United States.

Way better than a Summer Internship

You are answering Christ’s call to build up His Kingdom on earth. Throughout the summer, you will lead middle school and/or high school teens closer to Christ through service, relationship, and prayer. You will build and develop practical, life-long ministry skills by gaining experience in project coordination, effective time management, and collaborative team building.

Know Jesus like never before

As a missionary, you are also responding to Christ’s invitation to deepen your personal relationship with Him. You will be part of a mission community that together lives a structured and sacramental prayer life, supports one another in common mission, and holds each other accountable. You will experience ongoing spiritual formation and form relationships that will last a lifetime.

One Mission.
Lots of Options.

Whether you want direct relational ministry time with teens as Summer Staff or support summer camp as a member of our Service Crew, you will be part of a strong community of young adults evangelizing teens.

Mission Partners

Get the support you need on this mission.

Invite your friends and family who want to help.

A vital part of your mission this summer will be inviting people to join you as mission partners; they will support you spiritually and financially through prayers and donations. As a missionary, your first job will be to ask people to commit to praying for you; they can offer a daily Mass, rosary, chaplet, holy hour, or any other type of prayer. No mission is successful without prayer support; not only will camp be covered with intercession, but you will also be including individuals and families in the mission.

You will also need to gather financial support for this mission. Life Teen will help you by providing letter templates and donation cards as well as an online donation page that you can send to your extended family, friends, parishes, etc. in order to invite others to give a large or small donation. The majority of your mission partners should be outside of your immediate family — we want to include as many people as we can in this mission! Life Teen will match the amount you raise and you will receive a stipend at the end of your mission commitment, up to a total of $200 per week.

Since this is truly a mission, God is calling you to bring your servant heart with complete trust in His divine providence.

Sarah Kroger – Covecrest 2009

“I have never felt more united with a group of people than when I was on staff with my family. Yes, my family. That’s what we became. I have never loved or been loved so deeply. I had never experienced the love of Christ in a more real way. What we did on summer staff and how we were trained formed us as missionaries for the rest of our lives. Which is what we are called to be! So you ask me, was it worth it? I think the answer is quite clear. I would do it again in a heartbeat.”

Mark Bocinsky – Covecrest 2010

“I didn’t really know anything about camp, yet I felt a push to ‘dive in’ to the ‘mystery’ and let Him guide me. It’s been one of the best decisions of my life. A desire to love and serve is important. I believe the most important thing to have would be a desire to grow closer to Christ because that inevitably happen during camp.”

Anne Rohr – Covecrest 2010

“For the first time I felt what it meant to truly give everything to God. To entirely rely on Him. How my relationship with the Trinity wasn’t bad, but how He was calling me to get to know Him better.”

Shelby Mongan – Tepeyac 2010

“College is such a volatile time in a young adult’s life, especially in the realm of faith. There are so many opportunities for growth, as well as a lot of opportunities to lose sight of what is important. Summer staff gave me an opportunity to completely immerse myself in prayer, community, and service. It challenged me in ways that I never could have imagined. Plus, what other chance do I get to dance to Justin Bieber, ride a giant zip line, and play paintball every week?”

Kevin Fenter – Covecrest 2009, 2010

“It is an opportunity to live out your faith and do something completely radical and crazy with your life. You are taking part in the mission of Jesus! You are being an instrument to bring souls, whether they be teens or adults, out of the darkness and into the marvelous light of God’s presence.”

Chris Hardy – Covecrest 2008

“I would do it if God called me to it again, because God destroooyyyed me and made me new every day at camp, so yes, it was completely worth it.”
