Be Quiet!: God Speaks and Heals in the Silence

Turning off my cell phone was difficult. So was not listening to music, not having conversations (except 1 hour a day with a spiritual director), internet, and everything for eight days . . . but it was so worth it because I was able to pray in a way I never have before. I asked God more questions than I ever have in my life. And I heard him speak in the silence of my heart during my eight-day silent retreat. The first few days of the retreat, the silence hurt because I was forced to think about

What Do You Mean Jesus?

During one of my Desert Days I decided to not make my own plan for my prayers and Holy Hours but to ask God to lead me. I sat down in the chapel before the Blessed Sacrament and said to Jesus: “Okay, here I am, just tell me where to go”. And immediately I heard Jesus saying in my heart:  ”Ellen, you are My Beloved”. Instead of being happy with these nice words, I was mad and frustrated because I knew that Jesus loved me, so I wanted Him to say something new. But that’s not what happened… Jesus

This has been a few months ago that He showed me this, but it keeps on being strongly stirring inside of me to put it in a blog.   Jesus died on the

Have you ever felt lost, alone, left out, not accepted? Are you hungry for love, for peace, for real true happiness and friendship? Hear this. You are so loved… You are so loved. So loved! Not by just any random person. You are loved, so preciously loved by your Creator, the One who created the universe, the stars that you see at night, the One who created the most beautiful little flowers you’ve ever seen, the One! He loves you so so much! Even if you’re wondering around on this earth,

Rebellious Against Love

So recently I tore my achilles.  No, it wasn’t leaping from tall buildings or skydiving or bull riding, God is so much more creative.  I tore it playing kickball.  Yes, kickball.  One may ask the question, ‘How does a person tear their achilles playing kickball?’. Well, I must say in self-defense, this wasn’t any ordinary game of kickball, there were four year olds. So you can imagine the intensity level.  The Lord in His humor is finding more and more unique ways to humble me.  If
