LIFE TEEN FALL TRAINING

Going in I thought this would be just another conference. I didn’t realize God had something so much bigger in store for me. I couldn’t believe the amount I learned at the Fall Training Conference. These are a couple of things I took away on how God transformed our team.

JUST GETTING STARTED

This Sunday I walked into the 11am mass with my beautiful wife, my fellow missionaries, and an awesome group of teens. We marched up the center aisle to the front-most empty pews and proudly formed our “teen section” for the first time.

DEAR ANONYMOUS

First of all, thank you. Thank you for all the sacrifices, big or small, you made in order to support the mission of leading teens closer to Christ. I wish I could send you all the pictures and videos of our missionaries at work or the testimonies from young adults whose lives will never be the same because they serve with us, but I don’t even know who you are. Since I can’t send you something personally, I’ll post my thank you’s and stories and testimonies to the whole world wide web and pray that you will somehow come across them.

SCHEDULING CONFLICT

I hate repeating myself. Seriously. I hate it so much that often, if I can’t understand what someone is saying, and I’ve asked them to repeat themselves a couple times, and I STILL can’t understand what they’re saying, I just pretend to totally get it, mostly because I figure they hate to repeat themselves as much as I do. As you can imagine, that leads to a lot of awkward encounters and misunderstandings…

HOLD ONTO HOPE

If there is no hope, then I don’t think there is any purpose to this life. If there’s nothing more than this, if this is it, then I don’t want to live. When everything goes south, I need purpose behind suffering and pain. I need to have hope that Jesus is who He says He is and that there is redemption for this world…

THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE

I want to be boldly romantic with God like King David, St. Peter, and St. Francis, but what does this look like? How can I be romantic with the Lord? I do this by being like the great men I’ve been talking about…

LOST IN TRANSLATION

“God loves you” is one of the most misinterpreted phrases being proclaimed this day and age. Many translate the Gospel into whatever they want it to mean and sometimes confuse others around them or even themselves…

STAINED GLASS

It was through prayer that I realized I had to invite God to do the work in my heart. After all, it was His plan in the first place, and I took over, thinking I could do a better job…
