My Shepherd

“The Lord is God; we are his people, the flock he shepherds”

God desires to shepherd me!  It is Lent and He wants to lead me and all of you on a journey.  I can’t even express how excited I was to read this antiphon this morning in Liturgy of the Hours.  I am prepared for Him to take me where He wants me to go over these next forty days. I want to truly listen and surrender to His guidance. Are you?  What will your journey look like?

Maybe you have sacrificed sweets or sodas, Starbucks or facebook but are you offering these sacrifices up for anything?  Pick a prayer request to offer up these sacrifices for instead of just giving it up.  This is the first year that I will be doing that.  I usually give up sodas because I am addicted to Dr. Pepper and I want to break the addiction (It hasn’t worked yet) BUT this year it finally clicked that I can offer up this sacrifice for something or in this case someone. Making the sacrifice even more meaningful. I am so excited to pray each and every day for my special intention keeping in mind Mark 11:24 “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”  Think of something to offer your sacrifice up for and to enter into prayer for that intention each day.

I hope that your Lent is starting well and continues to be a beautiful journey!
