Saints Speak (part 1)

Over the break, I took some time to find a few saint quotes for a Christmas gift I was giving to a friend, and I just wanted to share a few of them with you. Enjoy!

Venerable Pope John Paul II “Love is never defeated”

Saint Padre Pio “Prayer is the oxygen of the soul.”

Mother Teresa “Many people mistake our work for our vocation. Our vocation is the love of Jesus.”

Saint John Eudes “Let us therefore give ourselves to God with a great desire to begin to live thus, and beg Him to destroy in us the life of the world of sin, and to establish His life within us.”

Saint Louis de Montfort “Pray with great confidence, with confidence based upon the goodness and infinite generosity of God and upon the promises of Jesus Christ. God is a spring of living water which flows unceasingly into the hearts of those who pray.”

Saint John Chrysostom “If there were no tribulation, there would be no rest; if there were no winter, there would be no summer.”

Saint Augustine“He who created us without our help will not save us without our consent.”

Saint Padre Pio “Pray, hope, and don’t worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.”

Saint Peter Julian Eymard “He loves, He hopes, He waits. If He came down on our altars on certain days only, some sinner, on being moved to repentance, might have to look for Him, and not finding Him, might have to wait. Our Lord prefers to wait Himself for the sinner for years rather than keep him waiting one instant.”

Saint Therese of Lisieux “For me prayer is a surge of the heart, it is a simple look towards Heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy.”
