Life Teen Summer Prayer Challenge: Week 3

What’s the Life Teen Summer Prayer Challenge? Find out here.

#LTPrayerChallenge time! This week the Life Teen Summer Prayer Challenge is: Morning Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours – in the morning!

You can find all the prayers and some handy resources at DivineOffice.org.

The Liturgy of the Hours is one of the oldest prayers of the Church. Every day priests and religious pray these prayers throughout the day. When you pray them you’re joining in with the whole Church in raising its voice to Heaven.

St. Paul says in Romans 12:5 “So we, though many, are one body in Christ.” Besides the Mass, this is one of the ways to feel united with the rest of the Body of Christ – knowing everyone is praying the same thing.

Liturgy of the Hours is also a great way to get scripture into your day. It’s amazing how God speaks to us through the Word if we are willing to listen. The Psalms take up a big part of the Liturgy of the Hours and they are a beautiful way to express to God the up’s and down’s of everyday life.

Did something stick out to you while you were praying it? Did God speak to your heart through one of the verses? Share that with your friends!

“Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer.” Romans 12:12
