This week’s Life Teen Staff Pick is from Ryan Miller. He’s our Web Director and besides being an HTML genius, he also has great taste in music! Here’s what he recommends.
“Mumford & Sons is one of the most exciting new bands I’ve discovered in a long time. Their first album “Sigh No More” was an underground hit when it landed in Spring 2010 and quickly gained attention due to their heart-renching lyrics, stirring harmonies, and pounding rhythms. When Audrey Assad and Jars of Clay decided to cover their title song this past winter on their tour, I knew I wanted to listen. Their version of “Sigh No More” is slower and more harmonized version of the original, with yearning voices and quieter instrumentation. In my opinion, Audrey and Jars of Clay’s version might even be better than the original.
If you get a chance to listen to Mumford & Sons album, I highly recommend it. Just a note of caution, there are a few curse words in a couple of songs. You might want to find a clean version.”
