About the Scholarship
Through the generosity of Holy Spirit College in Atlanta, Georgia, Life Teen is pleased to announce the Holy Spirit-Life Teen Scholarship. This scholarship will be provided to candidates currently involved in their Life Teen parish who desire a Theology, Philosophy, Psychology or Catholic Education degree from Holy Spirit College. This scholarship is renewable for four years given that academic and disciplinary standards are met during that period. Three scholarship levels are being offered:
Level 1 Scholarship
Upon approval by Life Teen and acceptance into Holy Spirit College and a signed non-binding letter of intent, this candidate will receive a 100% tuition scholarship at Holy Spirit College. This scholarship is available for anyone pursuing a religious vocation and entering seminary or religious or consecrated life after college or otherwise working full time for the Church for a minimum of two years. Alternatively, the recipient upon graduating would serve as a Life Teen missionary for two years.
Level 2 Scholarship
Upon approval by Life Teen and acceptance into Holy Spirit College, candidates will receive a 75% tuition scholarship at Holy Spirit College, contingent upon the candidate committing, upon graduating, to serve for 1 year as either a Catholic school teacher or in Catholic youth ministry.
Level 3 Scholarship
Upon approval by Life Teen and acceptance into Holy Spirit College, candidates will receive a 50% tuition scholarship at Holy Spirit College and be eligible for a 25% tuition loan.
In all cases students are responsible for accommodation fees of approximately $1900.00 per semester. Work study programs are available in the event of financial need.
All scholarships are initially granted as interest-free loans and cancelled upon the graduate/student meeting their commitment to serve the Church. If such commitment is not commenced within 6 months of the earlier of withdrawing from the college or graduating, the sum loaned becomes repayable with interest from the date of graduation/withdrawal at 4% per annum. Loans must be repaid in equal monthly installments over 60 months, although payments may at the discretion of the College be deferred in the event of financial hardship.
