Whether it’s in the headlines of Hollywood or the chambers of Congress, it seems that scandal’s everywhere these days. Celebrities, politicians, leaders… everyone is ready to prove that what they say and what they do aren’t the same things. But the stars of newspapers and gossip websites aren’t the only ones whose talk doesn’t match their walk. We all know how easy it can be to be ‘Catholic’ on Sundays. Hanging out with our ‘church’ friends and sitting in Mass, we can seem like the perfect Catholic.
What about those other days of the week? What are we doing Friday and Saturday night, when our friends invite us to the party we know we should probably avoid? What about the time we’re alone, when it seems like we could get away with anything? These answer to these kinds of questions lies in one simple virtue: integrity. Are you the same person at Church that you are at school? Is Christ present in your friendships and when you’re alone? Integrity is just that – being the same person all the time – living a “what-you-see-is-what-you-get” lifestyle.
This month, our theme is ‘Integrity.’ We’re going to cover all different parts of life, and how our faith ties in to them. Some of it you’ll love to hear; some of it will challenge you. A few things might even make you mad… but this month, we get to the heart of what it means to be Catholic 24/7.
