Saints – what do you think of when you see the word? You might think of your Confirmation saint or the saint your parish is named after. Maybe your family has a certain saint they’re devoted to, or you’ve looked into which one you’re named after.
Whether you know a lot about them or not, saints are one of the most unique parts of our Catholic faith. In fact, it’s one of the biggest issues that will come up when a Catholic talks about faith with someone from another religion. So what’s the deal with the Catholic church and the long list of holy dead people?
That’s what we’ll be diving into this month on LifeTeen.com – Saints. From stories of their lives to answering the weirdest questions (“What’s up with incorruptibility?”), this’ll be a month all about our sacred superheroes. Doing a whole month on saints is a really exciting opportunity for us – and you – to go deeper into the mystery of our faith.
In fact, we want your voice to be heard this month in a whole new way. If there’s a saint (or blessed) that you’re particularly passionate about and you’re in high school, send us a blog on what’s so great about them. Keep it between 300 and 500 words and it might just end up on the site this month!
Also, some of the more calendar-aware readers out there might be thinking, “Wait, isn’t All Saints’ Day in November?” Well, yes – technically the biggest saint-related feast day of the year is November 1st… but what better way to get ready for it than to spend a whole month learning about who we’re feasting for?
May the saints pray for you!
