A Steubenville Youth Conference is a powerful encounter a teen can have with the Sacramental Church. We are here to help get more teens from your group to attend. Over the years, the following are ten ways to do just that:
- Host witness talks about past Steubenville Youth Conference experiences at your parish. If you have never attended a conference before, invite a Life Teen staff member or other parish youth minister with prior experience.
- Share the pastor letter written by Fr. Dan Beeman with your pastor.
- Participate in fundraisers to help get parishioners invested in the conference and provide scholarship money for your teens. (Here is a great place to start: http://catholicyouthministry.com/i-cant-afford-that-tips-for-fundraising).
- Have payments spaced out throughout the winter and spring to help alleviate the financial strain on families.
- Receive Steubenville Youth Conference updates by joining each conference’s Facebook page.
- Use the Life Teen Events Brochure and Life Teen Events Website to gather more information about the conferences.
- Work with your Diocesan Director of Youth Ministry to invite teens from other parishes who may be looking for a conference to attend.
- Create prayer opportunities for your parish to pray for your teens’ before, during, and after a conference.
- Participate in similar events prior to the conference to spark interest (i.e. XLT, concerts, Adoration, etc.).
- Search throughout Youtube or Vimeo to watch Steubenville videos from past years. (The official 2012 conference video can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQud1LgLPw0).
