What do I do if I have a food allergy?
If you or anyone in your group has a food allergy we need to be aware of (vegetarian, lactose intolerant, wheat/peanut allergy, etc.), please let us know. There is a section on the roster that allows you to share this information with us. We always do our very best to accommodate your needs; however, it never hurts to bring some snacks just in case.
What is the weather like? How should I dress?
Kansas is warm during the summer. It’s hot during the day and pleasant at night and in the mornings. Dress to be casual and comfortable. The main room/breakout rooms can get chilly so bring a sweater or sweatshirt just in case. While the main room is very air conditioned, some dorm rooms are not.
I am a priest and I would like to con-celebrate Mass. What do I need to bring with me?
We would love for you to con-celebrate! We ask that you please bring your own vestments as we cannot promise that we will have enough or the correct size.
I am flying into Kansas City airport but I am not renting a car. Do you provide transportation?
Life Teen does not provide transportation for the conference. We do recommend Super Shuttle as a good option from the airport to the college site.
Are you going to sell USB drives at the conference? What is on them?
Yes, we will have USB drives for sale at the conference. They will contain the talks, except for the men’s and women’s breakouts. The USB drive will not contain music that is played at the conference (we cannot record and distribute music for copyright reasons). You do not have to order these ahead of time, as an order form will be available on site.
Will the Life Teen Store be at the conference?
Yes, the Life Teen store will have tons of options for you to choose from!
As a chaperone, do I get my own room?
Due to limited dorm space, we are not able to provide private rooms for chaperones. You will be roomed with a chaperone of the same gender from another group.
If I have a teen cancel, can I replace them with a teen of the opposite gender?
Yes, you can but you MUST make adjustments to your roster and send them to us so that we can make sure they will have proper housing.
Is there Internet available?
There is Internet available by Ethernet cord in each dorm room and wireless in the student union. There is not Internet available in the main room.
How many teens can we bring with our group?
In order to make sure that as many parishes can attend as possible, we ask that you limit your group to 15 total, including chaperones, but not including priests. Remember, if you bring a male teen, you must have a male chaperone. If you bring a female teen, you must have a female chaperone.
Is there first aid available on campus?
We will have very basic first aid (band aids, Tylenol, Tums, etc.). For any major needs, you will need to go to the local hospital. Please make sure the group leader brings first aid supplies as well.
