Below is an email I send to all registered groups for the Encounter for Life. Take a look for the most up-to-date information:
Encounter for Life Groups,
On behalf of Life Teen, thank you for registering for the Encounter for Life! Our desire from the beginning was to create an environment ahead of the March where prayer can be the focus. We are also excited to partner with local parishes to make this event a success. All and all, it is going to be a great event!
Joe Chernowski, the Ike Ndolo Band, and I are already dreaming and praying about the night, and we cannot wait to incorporate the current theme of “Fearless” into the programming. The night will be simple and powerful: praise and worship, a talk, Eucharistic Adoration, and a chance for Reconciliation and prayer teams by our Life Teen Missionaries from Covecrest.
I’ve been getting some questions recently, and I thought the best way to answer them would be to address you all:
(1) Is there a close train station to head into the city?
Yes! The closest station is the Twinbrook Station less than 2 miles away.
Below is a link to find it:
http://www.wmata.com/rail/station_detail.cfm?station_id=16
(2) If my group decides to pick the “spend the night” option (called the Vigil for Life), what does that include and where do I stay?
Your group will be housed in classroom and gym space in the attached parish school. Your group will be housed together and separated by gender. Bedding facilities are not provided, please bring your own.
In addition, dinner on Thursday night, breakfast the next morning, and a packed lunch for the next day are included in the overnight fees. For more information on this, please contact the coordinator, Fernando Cartagena at fcartagena@res-ec.org.
(3) Is my priest able to participate in the Sacramental aspects of the event?
Absolutely! In fact, let us know if your priest is coming so we can prepare ourselves.
(4) What is the cancellation policy for spots?
Because we have already prepared for you, all spots are non-refundable at this point. Please have the payment of your balance ready at check-in on Thursday.
(5) What is available to groups that are only going to the Encounter for Life rally?
While meals are not provided, our plan is to offer food available for purchase on site. You can stay for the entire night of programming and even stay for Reconciliation and prayer teams after the event. Once this is over, and out of respect for our overnight guests, please depart at this point.
(6) What forms do I need to turn in?
If you are attending the Encounter for Life only, please complete theĀ Liability Release form for all participants (including adults). You may bring this form to registration.
If you are attending the Encounter for Life and Vigil for Life, please complete the Liability Release form for all participants (including adults). You may bring this form to registration. In addition, Group Leaders must complete the waiver, have it signed by the Principle or Pastor, notarized and mailed to:
