In the spirit of the New Evangelization called for by St. John Paul II and encouraged by Bishop Ricken’s pastoral letter “Disciples on the Way,” Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Oshkosh, is creating a position to firmly establish a culture of evangelization and discipleship.
This director would be responsible to work with the pastor, staff, and key parish leaders to articulate, develop, and implement a Gospel-centered, intentional discipleship focused vision and mission for the process of faith formation. This process would include, but is not limited to:
1. Developing a comprehensive parish evangelization plan from Baptismal catechesis through Adult Faith Formation.
2. Helping children and families deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ through experiences of the kerygma.
3. Assisting all parishioners to live the Gospel mandates to love God and neighbor.
4. Aiding you and adults to truly become “Disciples on the Way.”
The ideal candidate will be a practicing Roman Catholic intentionally living his or her faith as a disciple with a mission to bring others to Christ. This person must be passionate about the incredible gift of the Catholic Faith and take to hear the command of our Savior to “Go therefore, and make disciples…” This person will be a self-starter who effectively collaborates with others as a team player, works to empower and equip parishioners, and is able to identify with the challenges of the modern family to accompany them to a deeper encounter of Christ through ministry and formation opportunities.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Education/Theology or other related fields is preferred. Five years or more professional experience and ongoing formal education may substitute for a Bachelor’s degree.
