Saint Patrick Cathedral in Fort Worth seeks a candidate for the full-time dual position of Coordinator of RCIA and Youth Ministry. The Coordinator of RCIA and Youth Ministry serves to work in fidelity with Church teaching and walk with adults leading them toward full communion in the Catholic Church (RCIA) and young people (generally grades 6th-12th) to help them and their families become active Disciples of Christ.
This is accomplished through a process of evangelization that includes pastoral, liturgical and catechetical formation. The Coordinator of Youth Ministry provides primary leadership for the design and implementation of parish ministry to its youth. The Coordinator of Youth Ministry is to work on forming parents and adults to also walk with these youths in their faith in order to make disciples of them as well.
As RCIA Coordinator the candidate will oversee all aspects of the Catechumenal process (RCIA) that pertains to the ministry of RCIA in the Parish. All catechetical instruction must be in keeping with the magisterial teachings of the Catholic Church. The coordinator will recruit, train, support and supervise the volunteers needed to make this ministry possible.
The ideal candidate must have at least a B.A. in Theology, or Catechesis. Knowledge and experience in Youth Ministry and the RCIA including an understanding of all catechetical documents on youth ministry and RCIA. The ability to work nights and weekends with the programs is a must. Bi-lingual ability (English and Spanish) would be an asset.
