Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 03 (Edge), Day 03

Today was another day of sun, fun, and prayers at Camp Tepeyac! The Edge campers ventured out to conquer their fears and channel their inner monkeys on the high ropes course in the morning. After lunch, the campers split up for paintball and bowling. They came together in the evening for a session by host Joe Chernowski and a witness by worship leader Gabe Reyes. The night was ended with a starlight mass and a Eucharistic procession to the South Lodge.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 08 (Life Teen), Day 3

Teens at Camp Covecrest spent the day conquering their fears! Some went white water rafting while others tackled the high and low ropes courses. At the end of the day, Br. Paul Kostka, this week’s host, led a session on “Epic Spirit.” Joseph Summers led praise and worship for the session. Teens experienced Baptism of the Holy Spirit where they had the chance to be prayed over by the summer staffers, youth ministers and core members.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 03 (Edge), Day 02

Camp Tepeyac enjoyed some cooler weather and a lot of fun and mess on day two of the second Edge week of camp. The day started off with a bang thanks to praise and worship led by Gabe Reyes and a bible study sparked by host Joe Chernowski on the parable of the Prodigal Son. Organized free time, including a hike to the Lookout, was next. Afterwards, everyone was excited to get covered in paint, water, and “yuck” during messy games. The evening presented a skit and a witness from one of the summer staffers, leading into a session and reconciliation. It was certainly a grace-filled and exciting day!

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 08 (Life Teen), Day 2

Campers at Covecrest spent day two getting messy! The afternoon was filled with messy games complete with water slides, oatmeal and mud! After all the messy games, teens cleaned off for an evening session. Br. Paul Kostka, this week’s host, gave a talk on Reconciliation with Joseph Summers leading praise and worship. The evening concluded with a chance for campers to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 03 (Edge), Day 1

Camp Tepeyac’s second week of Edge campers were welcomed onto the mountain today. After check in, they got to play some ice breakers and get to know their fellow campers. Next, they were led through their first praise and worship session of the week by Gabe Rayes with plenty of hand motions. Host Joe Chernowski introduced the theme for the week, Xtreme Adventure, and began the journey for the week. The night was wrapped up with the game “Survive Tepeyac!” and a dance party.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 08 (Life Teen), Day 1

Parishes from all over gathered at Covecrest to start day one of their epic adventure! Teens were greeted by the summer missionaries and some rain! However, that did not stop everyone from enjoying the medieval festival. The festival was complete with jousting, chariot racing and dragon pooping! After a fun-filled afternoon, teens headed in for a session on “Epic Love” with Joseph Summers leading praise and worship. The night concluded with adoration.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 07 (Life Teen), Day 5

Teens spent their last full day at Covecrest going on their final epic adventure for the week. They spent most of the day competing in the gauntlet, an obstacle course filled with pudding, water and mud! Winners of the gauntlet had the chance to pie Ben Walther, Matt Smith and a summer staffer of their choice. The night concluded with a talk on “Epic Life” by special guest, Happy.

Camp New England 2011, Week 1 (Edge), Day 5

On the last full day of camp, the all girl Edge camp threw a “Princess Party,” and learned what it means to be a beautiful daughter of God. In the afternoon, the 2011 Camp New England Olympics were held! Four teams took part in different events that tested their strength and stamina. Mass was held in the afternoon, followed by dinner. That night, the teens had their final session with Katie Dunne. That night, there was a bonfire where all of the teens burned the obstacles that were preventing them from spreading their faith to the world. Ice cream was served just before bed to finish off their last night of camp.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 02 (Life Teen), Day 05

The last full day for Camp Tepeyac’s first group of Life Teen campers was a blast! The day started out with powerful men’s and women’s sessions by hosts Richard Rivera and Tricia Tembreull, looking at the strength of sacrifice of Christ and at the loving touch of God. Organized free time gave campers a chance to spend time with friends and play in the sunshine. Afterwards, they were sent out on the Gauntlet to work with their teams, get doused with water, crawl through mud, and race for the finish line. The night started with a session by Richard on Epic Life and sainthood, followed by night mass in the amphitheater with worship led by Francis Cabildo. Finally, the teens prayerfully followed a Eucharistic procession back to the South Lodge.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 07 (Life Teen), Day 4

Campers spent day four at Covecrest going on more epic adventures! Some teens took on the high and low ropes courses while others went white water rafting. Everyone gathered in the evening to attend Mass celebrated by Fr. Tim Hepburn. After Mass, Matt Smith gave a talk in a session on “Epic Prayer.” The night concluded in front of the Blessed Sacrament in adoration.

Camp New England 2011, Week 1 (Edge), Day 4

On day four of Camp New England’s Xtreme Adventure, the teens started the day by learning how to make rosaries. From there, everyone participated in a rosary walk, followed by Mass outside. After lunch, the teens played capture the flag. Later in the day, groups of teens were lead through the low ropes course. Katie Dunne lead an evening session about how to become a saint, and the teens finished off the night with Adoration.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 02 (Life Teen), Day 04

It was another busy day at Camp Tepeyac today! In the morning, the girls split up for high ropes and a women’s session/crafting/low ropes combo while their brothers tackled the paintball field. After lunch, the girls’ groups switched places and the boys climbed the Tango Tower and rode the zip line. No rain meant the camp was blessed with mass outside, followed by a session on Epic Prayer by hosts Tricia Tembreull and Richard Rivera and a peaceful adoration session with worship led by Francis Cabildo.

Teens at Covecrest spent day three going on epic adventures. Some went white water rafting while others tackled the high and low ropes course. After a fun-filled and challenging day, Matt Smith started a session on “Epic Spirit” with Ben Walther leading praise and worship. The evening concluded with the opportunity for teens to open up to the Holy Spirit by diving into prayer with their core members and youth ministers.

Camp New England 2011, Week 1 (Edge), Day 3

On day three of Xtreme Edge Camp, the teens went to a water park called Water Wizz! Upon returning home, the teens were served family style dinner by the male summer staff. They then jumped into a session with Katie Dunne. That night, all of the teens attended mass, followed by an outdoor procession with the Blessed Sacrament.

Camp Tepeyac 2011, Week 02 (Life Teen), Day 03

Day 3 at Camp Tepeyac was busy but filled with lots of fun and conquering of fears. The guys and girls tackled paintball, high ropes, the Tango Tower, and low ropes. After a beautiful mass, the campers had a chance to praise God with worship led by Francis Cabildo. Hosts Richard Rivera and Tricia Tembreull brought the truth about Epic Prayer. Core members and youth ministers had the opportunity to be prayed over by the summer missionaries and full-time missionaries before they had the chance to pray over their teens.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 07 (Life Teen), Day 2

Day two at Covecrest began and the teens wasted no time getting messy! They spent the morning in organized free time and then it was time for messy games! Teens enjoyed the water slide, jumping in mud pools and pouring oatmeal on each other. Messy games concluded with the infamous mud pit! After a fun-filled afternoon of oatmeal and mud, Matt Smith, this week’s host, kicked off a session on Reconciliation with Ben Walther leading praise and worship. Everyone was then able to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Camp New England 2011, Week 1 (Edge), Day 2

On the second day of camp, the teens jumped right into session with Katie Dunne. They were lead in praise and worship, and then dove into scripture. They were then allowed some organized free time where they could pick from a number of different sports to play. In the afternoon, teens took part in the well awaited MESSY GAMES! The teens then had to clean up and get ready for Mass. They were each given a bow so they could dress up for their Father. During the night session, the teens talked about Reconciliation, and were given a chance to go to Confession. They finished off the night with a bonfire and a No Sin Party!

Camp Tepeyac, Week 02 (Life Teen), Day 2

Camp Tepeyac and the Life Teen campers didn’t let the rain keep them down today. The morning started off strong with guys and girls session and some quality time with the campers’ sisters and brothers. Organized free time, including a hike to the Lookout, followed. Next, the campers got up to their necks in paint, water, and “yuck” during messy games. Later that night, worship leader Francis Cabildo teamed up with hosts Tricia Tembreull and Richard Rivera to bring mass, beautiful worship, and a talk on reconciliation. Finally, campers got to experience God’s mercy and grace first hand during an adoration and reconciliation session.

Camp Covecrest 2011, Week 07 (Life Teen), Day 1

Teens from all over gathered to begin day one of their “epic adventure” at Covecrest today! We started the week with some icebreaker games and it was time for the medieval festival! During the festival, teens enjoyed jousting, tug o’ war, knife throwing and had the chance to pie their youth ministers and core members. After the festival, Matt Smith, this week’s host, kicked off a session on Epic Love with Ben Walther leading praise and worship.

Camp New England 2011, Week 1 (Edge), Day 1

Camp New England’s Xtreme Edge Camp began today! As teens were arriving, they played a fun game called Ninja. They later participated in Sunday Mass, followed by an ice breaker called “Elbow Tag.” As session began, the worship leader, Patrick Williams, lead the teens in praise. The teens then introduced themselves, lead by our host, Katie Dunne. To finish off the evening, everyone took part in a zombie game called “Survive Batania!”
