Jesus Wasn’t Born on Christmas?

2010-12-HappyBirthdayJesus_Blog

I’ll never forget when I learned Jesus wasn’t really born on December 25th. It shocked me. I felt cheated – like somehow my adolescent life had just lost some of its innocence. Thank God, I thought, Santa was still real – that would have really shattered my holiday season.

Life Teen Staff Picks: iPieta App

It’s the perfect app for people who want to grow in knowledge of the Catholic faith or deepen their prayer life. The ability to have so much mobile Catholic goodness on your phone is mind-boggling, and gives you a great way to pass the time when you’re sitting waiting for a friend to show up, standing alone in a line … or you’re bored in a meeting (not that I’ve ever done that).

To Protect and Serve: The Truth About Guardian Angels

2012-10_LT-Guardian

Yes, guardian angels really do exist! In fact, every year on October 2nd the Church celebrates a Feast Day in honor of Guardian Angels. Your guardian angel is one of God’s greatest gifts to you. They are a source of His power. They never leave your side yet they are constantly looking upon the face of God, too. Guardian angels are not only real they are very active. Good Thief, Bad Thief: Why We Need to be Penitents Desiring Salvation

I think most of the time I’m the thief on the left cross. I’m tempting Jesus. I’m yelling at Him. I’m talking to Him like he’s my equal. “Hey if you’re really God do this. Hey Jesus, if you really love me, get me out of (insert impossible situation here). And if you do, (insert impossible promise here that I’ll break in a week).” I’m the thief on the left.

Verbum Vitae: Pro-Life Scripture Quotes

There are few evils in this world that tear me apart like abortion does.

Many people try to make abortion strictly a political battle. Others attempt to make it a scientific debate. Still others reduce it to a subjective argument, one in which “no one person” is right or wrong – that it’s all about “what’s right for you.” None of these give the full picture, and all fail to take into account God’s objective truth.

There’s so much I want to say, but I know that the Lord’s words are more powerful and more effective than anything I could ever come up with. Here are a few verses to help you help others understand that life begins at conception.
