Don’t Wait for Jesus

You see, here’s my thought process… if everyone’s so worried about waiting and preparing for Him, what if they start ignoring Him? What if “preparing” for Jesus turns into buying presents and putting up “better than last years” Christmas lights? What if “waiting” becomes an excuse for spiritual laziness and complacency?

What if Advent flies by and it’s Christmas Eve and your soul is in the same place as it was on November 30th? That’s the real nightmare before Christmas.

The Change Our World Needs

The Holy Spirit is active in the Life Teen movement and lives are being changed across the room, across the street, and across the world. Through God’s grace, our dream has become a reality. Every day we recommit to our mission to “lead teens closer to Christ” because we are confident that in response to the needs of our world, God is going to continue to bless the fruit of our labors. What keeps us going is this reality: Life Teen is an instrument that God is using to make saints.

25 Reasons to Shake it Off

I’m sure by now you’ve heard Taylor Swift’s new song and if you haven’t I don’t think we can be friends. Just kidding, we can be friends… but the first act of our friendship will be to dance together to Shake it Off. Do you need a reason to shake it off? Not anymore than you need a reason to be awesome!!

You may not need a reason but… there are some times when I would prescribe a good shaking it off as the perfect cure. I’ve put together a list to help you identify the times you should pull a Taylor-Swift-White-Girls-Can’t-Dance dance.

Catholic Movie Reviews: When the Game Stands Tall

The main message of this movie is that in sports as in life you won’t always be the winner. You won’t always be on top. Your true character is defined by how you handle times of victory and times of defeat. The movie does a great job of highlighting the virtue of humility, a quality that really stands out as counter-cultural in sports today.

Why I Tell My Sins to a Person: In Defense of Confession

Every couple of weeks I solemnly walk into a small room where another person is sitting. It kinda feels like a closet, kinda looks like the smallest grandmotherly-parlor-sitting-room you’ve ever seen (complete with appropriate seating and decoration).

We sit there, me and this other person, and have a nice little conversation that consists of me telling them all the things I’ve done wrong recently. It’s a varied, and unexciting list that doesn’t change nearly as often as I change the tone of voice I use to disguise myself. (Don’t judge me. You know you’ve done it too.)

I Wish James Franco Would Flirt with Me

We who frequent the internet all know what happened this past week: James Franco connected with a 17 year old fan on Instagram and then texted her in an attempt to arrange a “meet up” at a hotel. Can we collectively say “creep-a-trillion”!?!?

I would meet up with you James Franco. BUT not because I’m interested in flirting or (heaven forbid) locking lips with you. Oh no. I would only want to meet you in order to give you a Jason Evert style lesson on real love over a nice glass of ice water.

Treat Yo’ Self: Radical Self-Love This Valentine’s Day

Come on daddy-dearest-God, all I ever wanted was a man with the voice of Benedict Cumberbach, and the looks of the dude who lives across the street from me, and the money of Brad Pitt, and the heart of Jesus… Is that so hard to ask?

So option numero uno for today is to soothe yourself by lying around in your PINK yoga pants watching Netflix and eating pasta because carbs are your comforting frenemy.
